You can find find large shoals mudding in deeper water. Classic bonefish flats comprising turtle grass and broken corals. These are the famous Pancake Flats. Some flats are photogenic sandbars in the protruding from the deeper water. There would be little excuse for visiting the same flat everyday given the number of hidden treasures in the area. Tarpon can be targeted later in the season from September through to Christmas ??? Bonito , Spanish Mackerel and Horse eyed jack chase baitfish shoals onto the flats and can be landed when wading. The Permit are Big on Los Roques. We stalked a fish in excess of thirty pounds last year.
