I promised a couple of Guys that are traveling to Cape Cod with me this year a tying sequence so I thought why not stick it on the site. This Fly suits Big Bass but I would feel comfortable fishing this fly in UK waters in the right circumstances. The Pattern could be tied With yellow and Chartreuse or other loud colors for GT's or Peacock Bass. It also could be used for Pike fishing just as it is. As it happens these days I use the Tiemco 600 SP for Pike flies. If Im tying it , its easy!!

Note By pulling the materials to a point before tying in and also taking careful consideration to the shape of the fly I have managed to tie without and scissor work. No Taperizing or trimming to shape (Promise!)

Step 1

Tie in thread 4 mm from the bend of the hook

Step 2

Take some Shrimp Slinky Fibres (SF)and trim a full length , Now pinch one end and pull the material. If you get this right the end will be tapered or pointed.

Turn The fly over and repeat the process with White SF , this time shorten the length slightly to create the begriming of the belly shape .Trim and store the waste and apply Fulling Mill Super glue.

Step 5

I will now tie in a small clump of Wing and flash. in front of the belly and stroke the flash into the fly

Step 6

Repeat steps 3 - 4 - 5 until you are close to the eye of the hook. Tie in a little Caramel Holofusion over the shoulder and Top with a Darker shade of H20 Slinky Fibres. Don't forget to Shorten the belly fibres with each new tying in.

Step7

Tie In Red Holofusion for the Gills and Whip finish (Tip - Apply super glue prior to cutting the thread)

Step 8

Apply Fulling Mill Super glue to the whippings and dab into the fibres with the brush . Then apply a pair of Big eyes .

Last step apply Loon Hard Head Clear with a bodkin, pushing the liquid into the fibres and coating the eyes. Apply a second coat a few hours later
